Friends of Troopers Hill
Plaque Unveiling 14th January 2026
A Bristol Civic Society Blue Plaque to commemorate Elizabeth Holmes (née Emra) was unveiled by the Lord Mayor of Bristol on 14th January 2026.
It can be seen in Harveys Lane BS5 8HP, which runs between the site of the now demolished Vicarage and the site of her home, after her marriage, at Homefield. ///words.crew.liked
We were particularly pleased to be joined for the unveiling by Geoffrey and Richard Emra, who are direct descendents of the Rev John Emra of St George through his son John (Elizabeth's brother). The younger John Emra's son, William Henry Atkinson Emra, was Geoffrey and Richard's great grand-father.
