For Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897 the pupils from the school (which was then on Crews Hole Road) marched up Troopers Hill and into St George Park. To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II the whole school (600 children & teachers) again walked to Troopers Hill. 60 balloons were released and the National Anthem was sung
