Trooping the Hill
If you were on the hill on Wednesday evening you might have heard the first rendition of the Troopers Hill song... Photos here. The event on 28th June promises to be something not to be missed! |

Well Radio Bristol certainly got it right as being a Nature Reserve (though they did get the day wrong in some of their reports). I hope everyone who was there enjoyed it as much as I did - great to see so many kids enjoying themselves. |

Actually Rob, I heard it called "Troopers Hill Park" on Radio Bristol and on GWR, so I can agree with what the other person posted. Perhaps 'The field' has been renamed as 'Troopers Hill Park' by whoever gave the information to those radio stations? Sorry to have missed whatever went on as I was away on photographic business. |

The information was given by Friends of Troopers Hill and certainly didn't refer to Troopers Hill Park. However the main point is that we had loads of people of all ages at three separate events over the weekend all enjoying themselves. |

I have to say, we worked hard at getting the information over concisely and accurately. At the end of the day, we depend on other parties picking it up and reporting it correctly. Those that heard the radio interview would know that. A quick show of hands at the Music on the Hill event showed that a good number of those that made it had heard of it on the radio and had managed to pick up the information correctly. They came from all sorts of places. Wouldn't it have been nice if more people had come from "just down the road" to join in as well? After all, Troopers Hill is on their doorstep. |

"Whatever went on"? Roger, you live not 100 yards away from signs that would have told you what was going on. You managed to "rattle the flagpole" to "find it's internal sections clang", yet you didn't manage to read the signs on the boards? Signs that you have to pass to get on to the Hill (unless some unhelpful so and so has chosen to remove them). Maybe FoTH should start using Ouija boards to get the messages across. Either that or tour up and down the local streets with a loud hailer perhaps. |

Just to say we've just viewed the photos posted of the Trooping of the Hill and we thought a lot of time and effort had been put in to make this day a success...and it was!! All the children enjoyed themselves and there was a really positive atmosphere. Nice to see the children away from computers and the tv! |

The trooping of the hill and subsequent Music on the Hill were both fabulous. A lot of hard work was put in beforehand and on the day and I would like to congratulate everybody concerned at such a successful outcome. |
